Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000
Mission:
The mission of the Technical 3D Artist is to assist our Graphics Engineers to create the world’s most robust 3D asset automation and real time rendering pipeline. The candidate will be closely involved in providing the technical solutions and feedback for various 3D asset optimization and conversion pipelines that can be automated through scripting. The candidate will also be involved in inspecting and providing feedback for the real time rendering pipeline that VNTANA has been developing, suggesting new methods and techniques to improve the real time rendering quality across all the platforms to achieve photorealism. Find creative solutions to help realize artistic vision within technical constraints. Assist QA team to establish automated 3D asset inspection methods.
Responsibilities:
1. Automate 3D asset pipeline through scripting (Blender, Maya, …)
2. Find creative solutions to achieve photorealistic real time rendering that can contribute towards the automation.
3. Review client models and fix any issues with regard to the VNTANA pipeline.
4. Analyze material/textures/shaders to ensure they are compatible with established graphic styles and lighting methods as well as postprocessing techniques.
5. Review the models produced by the pipeline to ensure they are compatible with platform standards and provide appropriate feedback to the team in constructive writeup with proposed solutions.
Requirements:
1. Experience in modelling and art tools (Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Substance Painter/Designer or ZBrush, Houdini, etc.).
2. PBR material creation and modeling.
3. Mastery of UV projection and unfolding techniques (overlapping, splitting, padding) of UV packing.
4. Experience in a full digital art content creation pipeline: (high and low-poly modelling, uv mapping, unwrapping, baking, texturing, atlasing)
5. Portfolio with examples of professional work (e.g. art, 3D models, scripts, tools, simulations, etc.)
6. 3D scripting experience (Blender or other).
These are a plus:
1. Modeling and low-poly optimization (texture baking toolsets).
2. Experience with rigging, skinning and animation.
3. Game asset creation, low poly optimization, AR/VR experience.
4. Unreal, Unity or game engine optimization equivalent experience.
5. Knowledge of device formats (glTF, USDZ) and mobile limitations.

Specific Measures of Success:
1. Contribution: Pipeline automation improvement by 50% within the first quarter.
2. Forward thinking: At least 2 proposed solid ideas to improve the pipeline every week.
3. Efficiency: Meet the 95% of the deadlines.
